In my mind, there are several places that bring me joy. One, on the couch in my home, snuggled up with a blanket and a good movie. Two being Newport, Rhode Island. Newport is one of those beautiful cities with just a little bit of everything. Delicious food, amazing shopping, stunning beaches, and some of the best photo locations on the East Coast. Knowing this, it made it the perfect spot to photograph Jenna and Guarillmo’s Newport Rhode Island Beach Engagement. With the stunning ocean breeze and gorgeous weather, it was an engagement session that I will never forget.
Jenna & Guarillmo’s Newport Rhode Island Beach Engagement
One of the best things when it comes to a beach engagement is that nature is your best friend. It serves as the perfect backdrop and that’s exactly what happened with Jenna and Guarillmo. Together, their love absolutely radiated and it was pure bliss. From the waves crashing behind them to the ocean smell (which yes, you do eventually learn to love) it was utter perfection. The most important thing when it comes to a Newport Rhode Island Beach engagement is being as authentically yourself as possible. As much as posing and getting photographed professionally can be nerve-wracking, it is entirely worth it. In the case of Jenna and Guarillmo, these two were true models. They flowed with each other beautifully and it was a breeze to capture their love story.
Ones like these make me so excited, I race home to put the final touches and edit their gallery. Thank you, Jenna and Guarillmo for entrusting me with such special moments.
How to Prep For A Beach Engagement
While having a beach engagement may seem like all rainbows and flowers, there is a bit of prep that is involved. Especially if you’re looking to maximize your time and end results! Here are just a few tips that as a Philadelphia Wedding Photographer I have learned over the years about having a beach engagement.
- Aim to shoot earlier in the day or in early evening. You avoid fewer crowds and distractions and get some of the best lighting.
- Pack your beach engagement emergency kit. This includes things like sunscreen, hair clips/bobby pins, chapstick, water, bandaids, towel, sunglasses etc. This makes sure that you are prepped and ready for anything!
- Avoid wearing flip-flops if you can. Flip flops can kick up sand and tend to break easier than traditional sandals.
- Don’t be afraid to go all out with props! Props can help elevate your beach engagement photos and make it that much more fun and special. Some props can be a picnic basket, blanket, books or any sort of beach gear
