In the heart of Philadelphia, where historic charm meets modern elegance, Jaimie and Bobby celebrated their love story with their breathtaking Winter wedding at two of the city’s most prestigious venues: The Loews Hotel and the iconic Ballroom at the Ben. As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their wedding celebration, which perfectly balanced sophistication with holiday allure.
Jaimie + Bobby’s Modern Love Story
Like many modern day love stories, Jaimie and Bobby’s romance blossomed during the height of COVID through the dating app Hinge. Though their story began in Washington D.C., they soon built their life together in Annapolis, Maryland, sharing their home with their beloved dog. Bobby’s proposal was intimately perfect with a surprise proposal during a casual walk in their neighborhood park, followed by an even bigger surprise when both families appeared to celebrate. It was the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both Jaimie and Bobby and thus, wedding planning began.
The Loews Hotel: A Philadelphia Skyline Wedding
The wedding day began at the prestigious Loews Philadelphia Hotel, where Jaimie and her bridesmaids prepped for the day ahead. In keeping with the Christmas theme, Jaimie thoughtfully gifted her wedding party festive holiday-colored pajamas. The perfect on-brand gifts to get the morning started if you ask me! The getting-ready suite offered breathtaking views of the Philadelphia skyline, providing an opportunity for stunning silhouette portraits of Jaimie against the city backdrop.
Jaimie and Bobby’s first look took place in the hotel’s Millennium Hall, the perfect backdrop for this intimate moment between the two of them. With December being quite frigid, we were limited to only a short period of time for photos outside but that didn’t deter from all of the beauty we were able to capture. The hotel’s towering Christmas tree was a key moment on this day as we captured the moment when Jaimie’s veil caught the winter wind, creating some of the day’s most spontaneous and joyful images.
The 33rd floor of the Loews Hotel hosted their ceremony, giving guests panoramic views of the city below. Following their vows, we ventured to the rooftop for portraits with Philadelphia’s iconic PSFS sign. The city lights created an enchanting backdrop for these newlywed portraits that I completely fell in love with!
The Ballroom at the Ben: A Pristine Philadelphia Reception Venue
When it came to choosing their reception venue, Bobby knew immediately upon entering that the Ballroom at the Ben was “the one.” This Philadelphia wedding venue’s reputation for elegance was absolutely true with its soaring ceilings, archways, and ornate architectural details. The space was transformed with sophisticated Christmas décor, creating a festive atmosphere that perfectly complemented the venue.
The reception began with Jaimie and Bobby’s first dance, complete with sparks and choreographed dance moves that completely wow’d guests. The iconic staircase and chandeliers provided an elegant backdrop for additional portraits of the newlyweds, while the beautiful balcony offered moments of quiet romance amidst the celebrations.
From the sophisticated urban setting of the Loews Hotel to the timeless elegance of the Ballroom at the Ben, Jaimie and Bobby’s wedding exemplified the magic of a Philadelphia winter wedding. Their celebration proved that when you combine two iconic Philadelphia wedding venues with personal touches, excellent vendors, and genuine love, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.
