For those of you who don’t know, before wedding photography, I was fully immersed in the fashion photography world. It was my world and I loved it. However, it then got to a point where I was searching for more. I wanted to be able to capture different love stories while still being able to add a fashion flair. Now, years later I am able to fulfill my passion for creating art with some amazing people. Recently, I had the opportunity of entering this exclusive estate that’s currently in the works of being one of Pennsylvania premiere wedding venues. This Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate Styled Shoot was one for the books and I am so happy to be able to share all of the magic we created.
Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate
The Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate is unlike any wedding venue I have ever seen. As soon as you walk in you are immediately greeted with Gilded Age interiors and breathtaking architecture. Located on 42 acres of property, this phenomenal manor showcases so much detail in just about every space. Built back in 1898 the French designer made this a one of a kind manor. Carved panels, marble columns, and crystal chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. The Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate used to be open to the public but shut down years ago. Luckily, with new ownership, the manor is being restored to its former glory for the whole world to admire. In Spring of 2023, the doors will be open for this stunning property for events, overnight accommodations for wedding guests and to make your fairytale wedding dreams come to life.
Luckily for me and a very small group of photographers, we were given the honor of entering during this restoration. We were able to organize this Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate Styled Shoot to showcase this beautiful space and make beautiful art.
Why Styled Shoots Are Important
Styled shoots are amazing ways for photographers to not only step outside of their comfort zone but to get creative. You are able to test out different angles, and different techniques that you wouldn’t normally do on say a wedding day. There are many benefits to styled shoots and why I believe that it is essential that photographers participate in at least one each year. Stepping outside of your comfort zone allows you to break through barriers, grow and improve. As a photographer, we are always looking to do! It’s a way for us to network and meet other creatives within our field and be able to have fun with a certain creative vision. While I can go on and on about the benefits of styled shoots and how they can be great portfolio builders, that’s for an entirely different blog.
Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate Styled Shoot
We were able to have some beautiful models from Click Models Philly participate in this styled shoot and let me just say, we were shocked at how beautiful everything was. Don’t get us wrong, we entirely anticipated the beautiful interiors of the Elstowe Manor, but we didn’t know just how beautiful. The gold detailing through the dining area, and the beautiful french doors surrounding us brought in some stunning natural light.
Outside we were able to have some beautiful floral archways built. The grand staircases and architecture, both inside and out, were breathtaking and truly one of a kind. If you’re someone looking for a luxury, premier wedding venue in Pennsylvania, you may have just hit the jackpot. The entire day we spent making great connections and photographing these beauties in some of the most beautiful gowns & suits. I feel honored to have been a part of creating such art and I could not recommend this venue enough for all of your wedding needs!
