Engagements

Shruti and Steven’s Longwood Gardens engagement photos in Kennett Square, PA were utter perfection. With blooming and vibrant florals, these two celebrated their engagement with some of the most down-to-earth and genuine moments I’ve ever seen. Bringing their cultures to life, it was an engagement session I will never forget.

Shruti & Steven’s Love Story

Steven and Shruti met seven years ago at a party while attending Penn State. After a brief conversation and a quick exchange of contact info they parted ways. Never knowing that in just two years their paths would cross again. After congratulating Steven on an accomplishment at work, he and Shruti began interacting more and more. They met up months later and began dating, officially solidifying their relationship in 2018. Over the years their relationship began flourishing, even getting their own place together in March of 2021.

On April 2nd, 2022 Steven surprised Shruti with a proposal 5000 feet in the air at Devil’s Bridge in Sedona, Arizona. A crowd full of strangers surrounded them as Steven got on his knee to propose to Shruti. In tears, Shruti gladly said yes, and now they are in the midst of planning their dream wedding next May!

One of the many joys of the wedding planning process is always celebrating the engagement. It was important for Shruti and Steven to take this time to celebrate the proposal as well as get practice in front of the camera before the big day. Shruti and Steven chose Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA since it fits their Spring/Summer wedding theme. They fell in love with the beautiful florals and also the love for nature and the stunning architecture of Longwood Gardens. Longwood Gardens is one of my favorite places for engagement photos because of these same reasons so I was ecstatic to hear that this was their destination location for their engagement photos.

Lastly, it was important for Shruti and Steven to incorporate both of their cultures for their engagement photos. They did this through the outfits that they chose to wear. Since Steven is Sri Lankan and Shruti, is South Indian, they share the same language Tamil, and the same culture. Shruti wore this gorgeous lavender lehenga from Lashkaraa. Embroidered in the dress were beautiful gold florals and it flowed perfectly to give her that dreamy photoshoot she always envisioned.
