A heartfelt love story celebrated by the shore on Cape May with Dani and Jake. One of the best reasons to have beach engagement photos is not only the stellar sunsets but the more laid-back feel you can have. Dani and Jake are engaged and were wanting to celebrate their engagement with these Cape May New Jersey beach engagement photos. One of my favorite sessions to date and a perfect way to cherish this special moment in their lives.
Dani & Jake’s Love Story
So fun fact, Dani is my step niece! When Dani asked me to capture her wedding I was jumping for joy. Dani and her fiancé, Jake, met back in high school in 2015 in math class. Oh the joys of a high-school romance. They started dating right after attending senior prom together and the rest was history. After graduation they endured four years of long distance. Jake going to Coastal Carolina University and Dani went to Rhode Island University. While it was difficult at the time, their love withstood all of the trials and tribulations. They were reunited once again after graduation.
After graduation, Dani and Jake both moved back to New Jersey. After 7 years together, in 2022 they got engaged. Their love story would then start a new chapter. They recently bought their first home together and are counting down the days until their wedding next June at Linwood Country Club!
Dani & Jake’s Beach Engagement in Cape May, New Jersey
Cape May, New Jersey is one of my favorite places to go and take beach engagement photos. The beaches are breathtaking and I’ve got a few secret spots that I like to keep up my sleeve. Nothing is worse than having a ton of people in the background of your beach engagement photos. Although Dani and Jake are incredibly photogenic and naturals in front of the camera, that doesn’t mean the nerves weren’t there.
A big component of some stunning beach engagement photos is the willingness to get in the water, let your guard down a bit and get creative. That’s where the magic really starts. However, a little bit of liquid courage helps. Especially if you’re a bit nervous to get in the water or be in front of the camera. Dani and Jake shared some celebratory champagne and we were able to soak up that gorgeous sunset and get them in the water for some beach fun.
