There are moments when you hear stories and just know that fate is working its magic behind the scenes. For Effie and Phil, their love story began online but quickly turned into their reality. Upon meeting for the first time, they knew it was meant to be… spoiler alert it was! Now in a gorgeous Fall Connecticut wedding at Aria Banquets, they tied the knot and started their journey for the rest of forever.
The Love Story
Effie and Phil met online while Phil was completing his residency in North Carolina and Effie as a nurse in Connecticut. Phil flew out to CT to visit Effie for the first time on their first date and it was love at first sight. Phil even confided in Effie later on stating he knew the first time he saw her that he was going to marry her. We love a good romance story! They endured the trials and tribulations of a long-distance relationship for two years before finally reuniting once again.
Phil proposed to Effie on their first trip together back in 2022 to Greece. Overlooking the Aegean Sea on the cliffside in Karpathos, where Effie’s family is from, he popped the question. Effie, in complete and total shock, immediately said yes. They celebrated that night over a delectable dinner with her whole family and wedding planning began shortly after.

Effie + Phil’s Fall Connecticut Wedding at Aria Banquets
Your wedding day is one of the only days that it’s all about you. It’s a moment of celebration and love, with all of your friends and family. For Effie and Phil, being able to celebrate with their friends and family as well as marry as best friends is all they could have asked for. Effie looked stunning wearing her custom wedding dress by NYC Glamour Couture. It embodied her personality so well and fit her like a glove. Surrounded by her bridesmaids she was an absolute queen the morning of her wedding day and we had barely gotten started. Phil spent that morning getting ready with his groomsmen. As a part of Greek tradition, the groomsmen help the groom get ready and put on his wedding attire. A beautiful tradition I loved getting to capture.
Effie and Phil had a traditional wedding ceremony at a Greek Orthodox church. With a family who came to witness this beautiful event from far and wide, it was breathtaking. Their reception at Aria Banquets proved to be nothing but stunning. The grand ballroom where their reception took place was decked out in florals by New Leaf Florals and floor-to-ceiling windows. So much love filled the room on this day and I couldn’t have imagined it going any other way. Effie and Phil were the kindest of couples and so genuine. It was a day that Abbe Foreman Photography was so honored to have captured and documented for them to cherish.
